NYPD: Duo Has Stolen More Than $5,000 Worth Of Luxury Items In Manhattan

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The NYPD wants your help stopping a couple adept at giving themselves a five-finger discount.

They say the duo have ripped off a jewelry shop in the West Village and a sunglasses store in Lower Manhattan.

Police say they've stolen merchandise from Alexis Bittar Jewelry on Bleecker Street twice while pretending to shop. One of the two distracted the employee while the other pilfered goods, police said.

They also robbed the Sunglass Hut on Broadway in Lower Manhattan, police said.

All together they've managed to get away with more than $5,000 worth of merchandise, according to police.
