Police: Long Island Man Faces Hate Crime Charges For Stealing From Nuns
HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island man is accused of burglarizing the same convent twice in one month.
Roberto Pantoja allegedly broke into the Saint Hugh of Lincoln Convent in Huntington Station on March 7 and March 26, stealing cash and property from the nuns who live there, police said.
The 31-year-old is charged with two counts of second-degree burglary as a hate crime.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
