Jersey City Recycling Center To Melt Guns
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- Workers at a recycling plant in northern New Jersey will figuratively turn guns into plowshares Tuesday.
New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly will be on hand at Sims Metal Management in Jersey City as more than 900 confiscated weapons are delivered.
The guns will be shredded and melted for use in the creation of a
"Peace Angel'' statue. The statue will be donated to the NYPD.
