It happened at a busy time of the morning in the densely populated neighborhood full of large families.

Traffic safety is a major focus for Ramapo police due to the large number of children in the community. Officers run education programs and are aggressive with enforcement.

More than 16,000 traffic citations were written by the police department in the last year.

A full investigation is underway.
