NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An impatient Brooklyn newborn wasn't going to wait to get to the hospital and instead made her debut to the world inside a livery cab.

The proud dad shot video Monday night as the FDNY gently carried the baby from the cab into an ambulance.

Paramedics then loaded the happy mom inside. Her first call was to her own mother, sharing the joyous, if not unusual news.

"I had it in the cab a block from the house," said mom Beka Economopoulos. I didn't even push, it just came out and Jason caught the baby."

Mom was all smiles when she arrived at the hospital, cradling her healthy newborn named Mila.

No word on how big of a tip the family gave the livery driver.
