B&C Show Blog & Audio: Waving The White Flag
Bobby Dwyer
Wally Backman expressed his opinion on the Mets in a roundabout way - and although they like his fire, Boomer and Craig think Backman should button his lip and not talk about the 'Big Club'. Speaking of the 'Big Club', the Mets have officially waved the white flag on the 2010 season by trading away Jeff Francoeur to the Rangers. A move that, according to Craig, makes absolutely no sense. Even Boomer, who is a Mets fan through and through, had to scratch his head about this move. The Yankees beat the A's by a score of 9-3. With the win the Yanks find themselves all alone in first place in the A.L. east for the first time in over a week, which Craig 'the Yankee fan' was thrilled about. In Jets camp Rex Ryan gets caught in a lie when asked about back-up QB Kellen Clemens' job security, and Craig calls out the potty-mouthed head coach for his dishonesty. As if that wasn't enough, Boomer then questions Craig's faith... and that is how you open up a morning radio program here in the Big Apple…

Plus, an update courtesy of Jerry 'Rello' Recco, Mark Sanchez catches 'Bieber Fever', Robin Ventura takes a walk down memory lane, an audio failure forces the Staff into action, Matt Leinart could be Giant, Al Dukes pays tribute to Kerry Rhodes (who fails to call in for his scheduled interview), Jerry works with what he has for his Moment of the Day, and a smokin' hot 'Attention Grabber' from Jersey to ogle…
Before getting to his first update of the day, Jerry informed Craig that his Karate instructor would like to beat him up. Craig let Jerry know that violence is a last resort in Karate and that his instructor is a fraud. With that out of the way, Jerry attempted to deliver his update, which became a challenge due to some technical difficulties here at the FAN…

Craig is a big fan of Mark Sanchez, but is on the record saying that Sanchez has a little growing up to do. Mind you Craigie said that before he heard reports that the Jets' QB was spotted at a Justin Bieber concert last night. Now Craig has admitted to having a little 'Bieber Fever' himself, but then again he does have a nine year old daughter…

Robin Ventura played for both the Mets and the Yankees, along with the White Sox and Rays during his 15 year big league career. He also had a storied career on the collegiate level playing for Oklahoma State University. Back in 2006 he was inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame as part of the inaugural class. Today he joined Boomer and Craig to talk a little baseball and take a little walk down memory lane - and yes, Craig asked him about getting beat down by Nolan Ryan…

With Jim Sorgi on the IR, the Giants are in need of a back-up QB. Not to worry Big Blue fans, the Cardinals are reportedly shopping Matt Leinart, who won the Heisman Trophy back in 2004 while calling signals for the U.S.C. Trojans, but has had a tough go of it in the N.F.L. Boomer explains why Leinart will never be a big time QB in the league…

Former Jets safety Kerry Rhodes was scheduled to join the program today just after 9 o'clock this morning. You may or may not remember when ole Kerry was a weekly guest of the Program back in 2008 (when the Jets finished 9-7), let's just say it ended badly. These days Rhodes is a member of the Arizona Cardinals and he had some sort of product to push so his people contacted Al and asked to come on. Well he must have had time to ponder his decision, because he never called in. That didn't stop Eddie from playing a montage of songs courtesy of Al 'Hughes' Dukes Productions, paying tribute to the safety…

Jerry selected a call from our buddy Phil in Long Island for his highly anticipated Moment of the Day. Phil is a regular caller to the Program and today he took an unprovoked shot at concussed Met, Jason Bay. After that I delivered a highly informative Blog Spot and introduced today's Jersey 'Attention Grabber'…
