B&C Morning Show: Jerry Recco Updates A Rangers Win Over His Devils And More

Jerry Recco is an avid Devils fan (and someone who is generally grumpy the majority of the time).

So the fact that the Rangers beat his Devils really had an impact on Jerry as he went about his business delivering an update, which coincidentally began with a thorough recap of the 3-0 win by the Blueshirts, complete with highlights and plenty of postgame reaction from both sides, including the soft-spoken Martin Broduer.

At Citi Field Terry Collins had some decisions to make regarding manufacturing a run and giving the ball to Frank Francisco.  The decisions paid off and the Mets captured a 3-1 win.

The Yankees won too, 8-5 over the Orioles in Baltimore thanks to a Mark Teixeira longball.  Derek Jeter singled in the third to pass Robin Yount on the all-time hit list (3,143) and move into 16th place.  A couple of sour notes, Ivan Nova left the game with a sprained foot & ankle - X-rays were negative - and David Robertson is experiencing soreness in his side.

With their respective wins, both the Mets and the Yankees have identical records at 20-15.

Plus, Sixers take Game 2 against the Celtics 82-81 to knot their series at one game apiece, Thunder hammer the Lakers 119-90 to go up one game to non, the Heat will likely be without the services of Chris Bosh for the rest of their series against the Pacers - maybe more - with an abdominal strain and the Clippers and the Spurs open-up their 2nd round series in San Antonio...
