B&C Morning Show: All About The Yankees Thursday
With the Yankees preparing for the first ever elimination game at the new Yankee Stadium, Boomer & Craig were all about setting the stage for Game 5 tonight in the Bronx.
Craig is confident in rookie Ivan Nova and finds it rather ironic that with the Yankees' penchant for spending money, Nova - who makes a mere $400,000 - is the man who will take the mound tonight against the Tigers.
Setting his salary aside, Nova appears to be oblivious to the pressure, which should bold well for him this evening.
The Tigers will counter with 6-foot-8 right-hander Doug Fister, who Craig suspects (hopes) will wilt under the 'bright lights' of the big city. All things considered, Craig feels the stage is set for an easy Yankees win and is hoping for a Bombers blowout tonight.
Boomer agrees with Craig, that the Yankees have a lot going for them, but unlike his radio partner, he would like to see a competitive ball game. The Blonde Bomber went on to say that this is what October baseball is all about - which I have to admit sounded a little odd coming from a Mets fan, but I digress - (Go Phillies!!!).
On one final note, with a little nip in the air, Boomer & Craig showed up to work today dressed in a similar manner (not pictured because Al Dukes was having a morning meltdown), both rockin' the flannels. Boomer described today's weather by saying, 'the hawk is out there today,' which was a saying Craig had never heard before (and he was not alone) so Boomer showed his age - I mean Boomer explained...
