9/9 CBS2 Wednesday Evening Weather Headlines

Good evening all,

Hope your day is going well. We hit 90° earlier today -- our third 90 degree-plus day in a row.

This makes for our second heat wave for the month of September. It is also our 20th 90-plus degree day of the season -- doubling our average of ten.

Some heavy rain fell this afternoon over Staten Island and parts of Monmouth County in New Jersey -- 1.5-2.5" in under two hours. It lead to some pretty serious localized flooding.

A few heavy showers and storms could fill up poor drainage areas quickly. Tomorrow, we could see more widespread rain and storms bringing similar action.
