(Episode 458; 16 minutes 28) Ancestry.com is one of the web's major success stories. It has seven million unqiue visitors per month and four billion searchable family history records. Late last year they listed on NASDAQ.

In 2009 they reported revenues of $224.9 million with an adjusted EBITDA margin of 31.8%. It sounds like a healthy business with a forecast of $250 million revenue (and $85 million EBITDA) for 2010.

So what is the secret to Ancestry's business? How do they market themselves? How do they choose the right markets for expansion? How do they manage growth?

I talk to Josh Hanna, their managing director for international business, to see if I can pick up some tips for others trying to build a global online business.
