Surging Raptors Beat Timberwolves 111-104

Kyle Lowry had 20 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists for his fourth career triple-double, lifting the Toronto Raptors to a 111-104 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night. DeMar DeRozan added 25 points and seven rebounds and Steve Novak hit five 3-pointers for the surprising Raptors, who have won nine of their last 11 games to climb to third place in the Eastern Conference standings. Toronto shot 58.3 percent (14 for 24) on 3-pointers.

Raptors Win Foul Fest Over Timberwolves, 104-97

Austin Daye scored 12 points to help the Toronto Raptors win a sloppy preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, 104-97 on Saturday night. Tyler Hansbrough was the only other Raptor in double figures with 11. The Raptors shot 50 percent to overcome 35 fouls and three technicals for delay of game, which is a point of emphasis with officials this season. Kevin Love had 28 points and 11 rebounds in 28 minutes for the Timberwolves. But the Wolves shot just 35 percent and lost despite forcing 26 turnovers and going to the foul line for 50 shots. They missed 15 free throws.
