Gabby Petito’s family gets $3M in lawsuit

The family of Gabby Petito, the 22-year-old found dead last year in Wyoming, was awarded $3 million in a wrongful death lawsuit against the estate of her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, who died by suicide. A federal judge in California will announce the sentence today of Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of the failed blood testing start-up Theranos. And the man charged with killing 10 people at a Buffalo supermarket is expected to plead guilty to all 25 state counts next week.

Calls to suicide lifeline increase 44% in Minnesota since transition to three-digit number, state says

"It is better than we expected, absolutely," said Sue Abderholden, the executive director of the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Minnesota. "You get worried – if you're gonna have an extra 1,000 calls is our rate going to go down or are we going to be able to meet the need? And I really applaud the call centers because they were really able to ramp up and basically meet that need."
