Recipes From Home us the chance to meet Good Day viewers and have them make some of their favorite, unique and family recipes live on Good Day. Meet Kay, who's dishing up an old school family recipe! RECIPES: Kay's Cinnamon Rolls Ingredients: 1 box of hot roll mix 1 cup heavy whipping cream 1 lb. butter sticks 1 egg 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract 2 ½ cups brown sugar 3 tablespoons cinnamon 8 oz cream cheese 3 cups powdered sugar 1/8 teaspoon sea salt ¼ cup flour Non stick cooking spray Directions: Follow directions on the hot roll mix box for cinnamon rolls. Make sure you have the egg and butter at room temperature. Also the water must be 120 to 130 degrees so not to damage the yeast. Mix dough in large mixing bowl and knead dough till smooth. Form the dough in a ball and place in mixing bowl sprayed with non stick cooking oil. Cover the dough with a dish towel and let rise for 1 hour in a warm place. For filling mix the brown sugar and cinnamon with 8 tablespoons melted butter. Place a small amount of this mixture in the bottom of standard baking pan about 13" X 9". Sprinkle work surface with flour and after the dough has risen roll out into a rectangle about ¼" thick. Add the filling mixture to the dough spreading evenly over the dough. Roll the dough up and cut with thread into 2" pieces. Place in prepared pan then cover and let rise another hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and before baking pour whipping cream evenly over the rolls. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. For frosting mix together at room temperature cream cheese, ¼ cup butter, 3 cups powdered sugar, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract and sea salt. Use mixer and whip until smooth. Spread frosting as desired on rolls when still warm from the oven. Kay's Chili Ingredients: l- lb. lean ground turkey (or meat of preference) L 15 oz can pinto beans L L5 oz can kidney beans in chili sauce 1. LS oz oz can fire roasted diced tomatoes L LS oz can crushed tomatoes L l-0 oz can tomato soup not diluted L 7 oz can fire roasted green chilies L onion diced Vz cu.p cooked bacon chopped L cup Guinness Drought beer 2 table spoons Worcestershire Sauce % teaspoon Liquid Smoke 3 tablespoons olive oil Seasonings mix together and add to desired taste: 2 table spoons chili powder 2 table spoons ground cumin 2 tablespoons garlic powder L table spoon chipotle chili pepper 2 tablespoons onion powder L tablespoon oregano Add olive oil, meat, chopped onion and diced chilies to skillet. Add seasonings and simmer till browned. Pour the meat mixture into a crock pot or large dutch oven. Add all other ingredients and simmer several hours, more is better. Makes about 8 to 10 servings Garnish as desired with, shredded cheese, chopped cilantro, sliced jalapeno, chopped green onions, sour cream, sliced avocado and com chips.
