The man was hit multiple times in his body and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he died. The vendor was hit in his right arm and was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
The village said that officers responded to the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Around 7:30 a.m. Oak Park police and fire departments were called to Ridgeland Avenue and Roosevelt Road for possible shots fired and a car crash.
Several shell casings were found about a half block from the crashed car.
One man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to an area hospital for treatment, police said.
The woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition.
It happened near the Liquor Barn, located in the Hawthorn Hills Square shopping center, at 700 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Vernon Hills.
James Harris, 44, was arrested on Tuesday in the 3100 block of West Mann Drive by members of the Chicago Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Task Force.
Surveillance video shows the incident at the station on Oct. 17 in the 8600 block of South Morgan Street.
