Chicago police issued an alert on Sunday about a pattern of ATM thefts and an armed robbery that transpired on the city's Northwest Side in December and January.
Further information about the person on the tracks was not provided.
The robbery happened at 6:14 a.m. on a train at the Fullerton station.
Police said the 45-year-old victim was on a train at the Fullerton stop when he was approached by several people who struck him several times, and then took his personal property. The robbers ran from the scene.
