"We're urging Chicago voters to vote early, and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with getting your civic duty out of the way," said Chicago Board of Election Commissioners chair Marisel Hernandez.
Several national election watchdog organizations consider the 1st Congressional District race in Northwest Indiana a toss-up.

The state senator is campaigning to unseat incumbent Gov. JB Pritzker in November.
A total of 299,490 ballots have been counted in the city as of 7 p.m. on Election Day, according to the Chicago Board of Elections.
"I'm very frustrated because it should be such an easy process. They've done this before. The election is important to everybody."
One of the biggest races to keep an eye on Tuesday is the Republican Primary for Illinois governor.
"We've been outworking all the other campaigns combined."
At the site, you can cast your ballot for the Illinois primary election, which takes place on June 28.
"Voting by mail has become increasingly popular in recent years and it's clear that voters enjoy the simple and convenient option of casting their ballot from the comfort of their own home."
The Chicago Board of Elections will start mailing ballots in May. Those ballots will come with postage-paid return envelopes.
