Echo, one of four dolphins transferred to Oceanogràfic València from Marineland Canada, died on Wednesday, the Spanish facility said.
Brookfield Zoo said it is preparing for dolphins Allison and Allie to give birth this year. Allison is due in the late summer or early fall, while Allie is due in the winter.
The dolphin was born last Saturday morning to mother Allie, 38, who gave birth to the calf just before 12:30 a.m.
According to the zoo, this is the first birth for the species, also known as Tursiops truncatus, since 2014.
The Marine Mammal Stranding Center was called to assist and will bring equipment from out of state to take the dolphin back to the ocean.
The reward is offered for information on who shot and killed a dolphin on a Louisiana beach. The dead bottlenose dolphin was found on the beach in the southwestern part of the state last month. It had been shot several times.
"I might get emotional, but I'm so happy to have them home."
The dolphins returned to a newly renovated Seven Seas habitat at the zoo.
The rare striped dolphin was spotted by a research team in the Gulf of Corinth.
They're spending a few months at the Minnesota Zoo while Brookfield's Seven Seas Habit is being updated.
