An Amazon driver got quite a surprise when he tried to do a garage dropoff in southwest suburban Minooka last week.
The driver of an Amazon delivery van was taken to a hospital after she drove over a small bridge into a creek in south suburban Frankfort on Tuesday. The van driver was out doing deliveries and drove into the creek in the 800 block of Ironwood Drive, according to the Frankfort Fire Department.
As the U.S. economy slows, the online retailer plans to cut as many as 10,000 jobs and close unprofitable divisions.
Charges are pending against the person in custody.
The car thief switched stolen vehicles, crashed multiple times and kidnapped a baby, witnesses say.
The owner said Amazon gave her "the runaround for hours and hours," but detectives told her the delivery driver turned himself in.
The walkout is set to take place starting at 11:45 a.m.
Sign on bonuses ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 will also be offered to those who accept holiday positions.
"We're asking for a change in policy when it comes to the safety. We're asking for fairness."

Both people involved had taken off by the time police arrived.

"I know a lot of sellers who are legitimate who follow the rules who are kind of angry," said Lonny Stark.

"This entire facility could have been evacuated when it was believed a tornado was en route. It appears that holiday profits took precedence over safety," Clifford Law Offices partner Jack Casciato said in a statement.
"We felt like we were going to the ritziest store in the world, and it was right here in Chicago," Leslie Goddard said, recalling visits to Marshall Field's.
"We are seeing more and more around the state of Illinois."
