Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun will leave at the end of 2024. His announced departure comes after production problems at Boeing.
A letter sent by a victim specialist in the Seattle Division of the FBI to those flying on Alaska Airline Flight No. 1282 was obtained by CBS News.
The grounded Boeing jets are coming back into service at Alaska Airlines and United Airlines.
"At the very least, installers missed something," former NTSB member John Goglia said after the door plug blowout on an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 Max 9 jet. "It calls into question the process."
Because they had their oxygen masks on and the wind blowing through the hole in the plane was too loud, they couldn't communicate by talking. So they wrote messages in the notes app.
The FAA is halting 171 planes across the country after a door plug blew off an Alaska Airlines flight at 16,000 feet.
NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy said that "we are very, very fortunate" no one happened to be seated in the two adjoining seats to the blown-out door.
Situation is not an immediate safety issue and planes already flying "can continue operating safely," company said.
