Spring-like weather returns to North Texas on Wednesday

Clouds clear Wednesday before rain returns to North Texas this weekend

A cold front sagged south and stalled over parts of North Texas Tuesday, which dropped temperatures back below average for the metroplex while our southeastern counties hung onto the spring-like temperatures.

That same cold front will retreat back to the north into Wednesday morning, bringing us the chance for morning fog, and a bit of a misty for the morning commute. Once the cold front lifts out of North Texas, our southerly breeze kicks back in, and temperatures start to warm back up. Expect highs in the middle 70s for Wednesday, with gradually decreasing cloud coverage.

We continue to warm through the end of the week, with sunshine, and near-record highs for Thursday, in the lower to middle 80s.

Don't expect us to break records Friday, as the record is 88°, and temperatures look to stick in the low to middle 80s. Still very warm, just not record-breaking for the date.

Saturday, however, will be another day of near-record highs. Clouds will gradually return, and it will be fairly breezy.

A cold front then sweeps through into Sunday, which drops our temperatures back close to, and even a couple of degrees below average. We'll see highs in the low to middle 50s for Super Bowl Sunday, with rain chances gradually building into the first of next week.
