NORTH TEXAS — After a beautiful Sunday, a rinse-and-repeat forecast with a gradual temperature incline will be expected over the next work week until a big pattern shift takes place.

Thanks to the dry cold front that passed through early Sunday, temperatures were mild, and conditions were clear.

Clear skies will remain overnight, which will allow for significant cooling to take place. Monday morning lows will be either flirting with or below the freezing line. With a slight breeze from the north, the wind chill value will be in the lower 20s and teens. Be sure to bundle up your kiddos as they head off to school.

In the afternoon, temperatures will climb. Over the next several days, a high-pressure system will influence the weather pattern for North Texas, allowing for plenty of sunshine and highs climbing above average throughout the work week.

However, these nice and mild weather days won't last long.

Winds coming from the south will pull more moisture into the area, ahead of the next potent front, there seems to be enough moisture and instability to produce a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Friday.

The next arctic blast is on the way. The strong cold front will move through Saturday, causing temperatures to crash.

As of now, according to the Climate Prediction Center, the confidence is high for below-normal temperatures to continue through the next week.

Though the confidence is high that the cold air will settle across the region next week, the confidence is low that there will be wintry precipitation along with it. The chance for snow and a wintry mix is a possibility, but also not guaranteed at this time. The First Alert Weather Team will continue to monitor and keep a close eye on the models as the event comes closer and the forecast gets clearer.

Until then, enjoy the sunshine and mild temperatures this week before the big pattern change.
