Heat advisory stays in effect for North Texas Thursday as feels-like temperatures shoot to 109 degrees

The heat advisory continues until at least 8 p.m. Friday, when we will see the hottest temperatures around 104°F, with heat index values between 110-115°F possible. A weak cold front arrives Saturday morning with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s, with a lowering of nighttime temperatures as well.

Lows Thursday night will remain in the low 80s for most of the area.

A cold front will move into North Texas early on Saturday, which could bring a few weak showers as the front passes by, with rain chances at 10%. 

Behind the front, temperatures won't cool significantly, but they'll scale back from the mid- to upper-90s through Monday. Sunday morning could be rather pleasant with lower humidity and temperatures in the low to mid 70's across the area.

The cold front will be brief, and the ridge of high pressure will return to North Texas, pushing temperatures back into the triple digits by Tuesday. That, coupled with moisture from the Gulf, will make things feel even hotter, and a reissuance of the heat advisory is possible Tuesday onward.
