The warmer than average temperatures, dry fuels, and windy conditions will continue to lead to high fire danger on Thursday. Please avoid any activities that may cause a spark or a flame; any flame that ignites has the potential of spreading rapidly. Winds will be from the north, gusting up to 20 mph on Thursday.

Above-average temperatures continue into the weekend and the next week. The Climate Prediction Center has high confidence that above-average temperatures are likely for the first two weeks of meteorological spring, starting March 1.

As for rainfall, conditions look to stay mostly dry through the weekend, but there is a chance for a few showers in the mornings this weekend. The majority of North Texas will stay dry. The next big chance of showers and storms is on Tuesday of next week.
