Rain in North Texas leaves behind cooler temperatures

Dense fog on Tuesday morning cleared to a glorious day. Highs reached into the low 70s as a cold front started moving into North Texas at the end of the day.

Wednesday will be cooler, with highs only in the upper 50s, but a sunny day will make it enjoyable. A little warmer for Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Pleasant Thanksgiving and Cowboys gameday ahead

On Thanksgiving, expect a crisp morning and mild afternoon. For the Dallas Cowboys tailgaters on Thursday afternoon, highs will be in the low 60s under sunny skies.

It'll be a cloudy Black Friday but dry. Rain shows up later that night.

Rainy weekend welcomes winter to North Texas

Saturday? Messy for the shoppers and travelers.

The rain event on Saturday could last most of the day and into the evening before clearing out for Sunday. There will be clouds and highs only in the 40s, the first time this season, on Sunday, but dry for the Parade of Lights in Fort Worth.

A little irony to enjoy: It appears this will go down as the warmest Meteorological Fall on record, Sep. 1 – Nov. 30. The last day of it will be the coldest day of the season so far.

The cold front that comes through this weekend brings in the coldest air of the season, just as we turn into the winter season on Monday. It will very much feel like winter, highs in the 40s with clouds and light rain.

Expect cold rain on Monday and Tuesday; however, in the morning hours, some sleet could be mixed in with it.

Yes…winter arrives next week.
