Matt Zahn joined CBS News Chicago in October of 2016 as a sports reporter and fill-in sports anchor, and what a time to come to Chicago. Matt arrived just as the Cubs won the World Series.
Matt has covered many other great sporting events in his career including The Masters, the Super Bowl, the Rose Bowl, and the College Football Playoff.
Prior to joining the team, Matt worked in Augusta, Ga., as the sports director at the local ABC station WJBF. He hosted and produced their award-winning Masters Report and Football Friday Night programs.
Matt is originally from Wisconsin where he also started his broadcast career in Wausau before moving on to Madison. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay after growing up in the small town of Rosendale, about an hour north of Milwaukee.
Matt lives in the western suburbs with his wife and three young children.

Around 20 guys were out including four of their top six offensive linemen, with only Cody Whitehair and Braxton Jones practicing.
The golfers were artists on the course, but anyone who's been out to Olympia Fields saw some cool artwork on the way in.
Chicago area golf fans should enjoy this week because the BMW Championship won't be back until at least 2028.
The weather could also play a significant factor in the competition, with rain making the course rather soft.
The top 50 players in the Fed Ex Cup standings are at Olympia Fields and most of them were getting in work on Tuesday.
CBS 2's Matt Zahn got a close-up look at the famed North Course that will, as in years past, demand the best out of the PGA's best.
"I get kind of jittery when I think about it, but I'm trying to continue taking each day at a time," the rookie wide receiver said of getting his first NFL game action on Saturday against the Titans.
"The shirts are inappropriate, offensive and tone deaf," Northwestern athletic director Derrick Gragg said.
The 2017 Pro Bowler did not take part in team drills during a lighter day at Halas Hall, and the team did not practice in pads.
Second-year linebacker Jack Sanborn said he's also looking to improve after an impressive rookie season.
"That's the championship mindset that we talk about. The standard is being champions, and the entire thing being Super Bowl champions is always going to be what we're putting ourself against," general manager Ryan Poles said.
"If you want to get back in the game, you eventually just gotta go out and do it, and so it's a perfect start for me to get my feet wet again," Sexson said.
"They call me Aaron George. So I definitely get that. I kind of want to be that next Aaron Judge. For me, just kind of use that as motivation," he said.
