Jim Berry co-anchors CBS News Miami weeknights at 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. He also serves as the solo anchor of CBS News Miami at 7 p.m.
Berry began his CBS career at WBBM-TV in Chicago as a sports anchor. He joined CBS Miami in 1996 as the station's main sports anchor and sports director.
His broadcasting career started at WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina, as a news anchor and reporter. He later moved to WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C., where he anchored weekend newscasts before transitioning to sports. He then joined WSVN-TV in Miami as its main sports anchor.
Berry is a five-time Emmy Award winner and a member of the Silver Circle of the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, which recognizes distinguished careers in journalism. He is a graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and has been inducted into the school's Hall of Achievement.
Berry is a jazz singer and avid tennis player. He is married with two children and supports charities that provide mentorship programs.
