How will history judge former President Trump?

A panel of historians is releasing its third collection of essays analyzing and assessing the accomplishments and failures of a presidential administration. But for the first time, a former president, Donald Trump, spoke to the historians to offer his own take on his time in office. Correspondent Rita Braver talks with Princeton University's Julian Zelizer, who assembled the panel, and with the academics who unpack history's first judgment of the 45th president.

The "Big Lie" and the dangers of denying election results

Baseless allegations of election fraud amplified by President Donald Trump fueled the violent siege on the Capitol last January 6, intended to stop the Electoral College certification of Joe Biden's victory. Fallout from conspiracy theories has included death threats and harassment directed toward election officials. CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett talks with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (whom Trump tried to pressure to "find" enough votes that would win him the state), and with other officials who fear denying the results of elections is chipping away at the integrity of our democracy.

DOJ still investigating Capitol Hill rioters

One year after the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol, over 725 people involved in the riots have been arrested. However, authorities are still searching for more than 350 people believed to have committed violent acts that day. CBSN's Meg Oliver sits down with CBS News chief justice and homeland security correspondent Jeff Pegues to discuss what he remembers about that day, and why he believes former President Donald Trump has not yet been charged for inciting the riots.

U.S. to mark one year since Capitol riot

President Biden is expected to address Americans on Thursday -- exactly one year after a pro-Trump mob stormed the U.S. Capitol. CBS News chief White House correspondent Nancy Cordes has a preview of his remarks. Then, CBS News chief national affairs and justice correspondent Jeff Pegues takes a look at the court cases and investigations since January 6. CBS News congressional correspondent Scott MacFarlane joins CBSN's Lana Zak with more on where those cases stand today, and what to expect in the months to come.

Facebook's role ahead of January 6 attack

A new investigation by ProPublica and the Washington Post reveals how Facebook dissolved a "political moderation task force" in the weeks leading up to the January 6 attack on the Capitol. The previously unreported task force was created in an effort to police the increasingly "toxic" political groups on the social network. Craig Silverman, a national reporter for ProPublica and co-author of the report, joins "Red and Blue" with more on the findings.
