Trump responds to threat of subpoena

The House Select Committee investigating Jan. 6 voted Thursday to subpoena former President Donald Trump. He responded to the panel in a letter posted on his social media platform Friday, criticizing the committee and repeating false claims that the 2020 election was stolen. Secret Service knew of potential for violence

The House Jan. 6 committee revealed during a public hearing on Thursday that the Secret Service, as well as other agencies, knew about the potential for violence ahead of the riot at the Capitol. CBS News also learned that the committee would vote to subpoena former President Donald Trump.
