Postal Worker Attacked In Westmoreland Co.

JEANNETTE (KDKA) - A local postal worker is recovering after being attacked, robbed and left unconscious outside the post office in Jeannette.

Another postal worker found 50-year-old Jeffrey Gogets and called police.

Gogets, a supervisor at the Jeannette Post Office, was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in fair condition

Authorities are now looking into whether this was a robbery or something else.

Seven investigators from the US Postal Inspector's Office were in Jeannette on Monday combing the area and looking at surveillance video from local businesses.

Because the US Postal Inspector is handling the investigation, any charges would be filed in federal court.
