Best Food Trucks In Pittsburgh

For any of us who have waited expectantly on a hot summer day for the ice cream man, the idea of a food truck is not so scary. Trucks with food means the treats come to you. In spite of some difficult regulations in the city for food truck vendors, they are gaining in popularity among the downtown crowd. Offering everything from a quick lunch to a portable gourmet experience, here are some food trucks to keep an eye out for in Pittsburgh.


With restaurants established downtown and in Lawrenceville, the Franktuary food truck features the same foods you are used to at convienient locations. The New York-style hot dogs are made with grass-fed, local beef. Vegetarian dogs are available too. Fresh, natural toppings, hand-cut french fries or Canadian poutine complete your meal. The Pittsburgh Taco Truck can be seen making its way around Pittsburgh to various business. It serves a daily menu with a vegetarian option plus beef, chicken and pork tacos with a tasty combination of toppings. The tacos are served in grilled corn tortillas and are gluten free. Sometimes, in addition to the regular menu, the taco truck will serve daily specials. The menu features hot, homemade potato and cheese pierogies as well as other Polish favorites such as stuffed cabbage and cabbage and noodles. Frozen pierogies can also be purchased to take home.
