Antrel Rolle has been a leader for the New York Giants almost since the time he was signed as a free agent after being released by the Arizona Cardinals in 2010. As the veteran safety pines for a return to the Big Apple, Big Blue must make sure that an extended stay in New York makes sense for them too.
Geno Smith is going his own way on the coaching issue, which just shows how divided against him the locker room remains.
One more week. One final game. That's all that might be left in Rex Ryan's tenure as coach of the Jets, with his future uncertain beyond Sunday's season finale.
Polee was alert and responsive at a hospital and was scheduled to begin a battery of tests on Tuesday, San Diego State coach Steve Fisher said.
No one expected that the season finale between the Philadelphia Eagles (9-6) and the New York Giants (6-9) would be a meaningless encounter for both teams. This latest loss to rival New England certainly didn't make the Jets' faithful — or coach Rex Ryan and GM John Idzik — feel any better about their situation.
"The way I was raised, you protect family," said defensive end Damontre' Moore, one of two Giants players ejected. "My brother was in danger."
He kept the hat on in the tunnel before introductions and held it over his heart during the national anthem. The Jets also held a moment of silence.
The New York Giants are peaking behind a rookie that no one can cover. Odell Beckham Jr. showed the St. Louis Rams plenty of toughness, too.
Eli Manning will no doubt be targeting the dynamic Odell Beckham Jr. this weekend. But they will be going up against a Rams defense that hasn't yielded a TD in three games.
New York ranks 30th in points per game (16.4), which is a big reason why Rex Ryan could be coaching his last game in the Patriots-Jets series.
It looks like rookie Andre Williams will carry the workload for the New York Giants as Rashad Jennings nurses an ankle injury. The St. Louis Rams come in with no new injuries for Sunday.
The scoreboard Sunday may say that it is time, finally, for the Jets coach to admit his arch-rival truly got the better of him. If he didn't kiss anything before, he might as well now. And we're not talking about rings.
With Week 16 of the highly competitive world of fantasy football upon us and Christmas right around the corner, Boomer belted out a rather unique version of the Clement Clarke Moore classic.
The San Diego Chargers are still in the hunt for a playoff spot, but after three consecutive NFC Championship Game appearances, the San Francisco 49ers are out. They have the opportunity to play the spoiler for the Chargers, but what has happened to them this year? Two NFC East teams going in different directions will face off on Saturday, but there is still a lot to prove. The Philadelphia Eagles need to make sure they earn a spot in the playoffs. The Washington Redskins have a quarterback controversy that is getting more confusing each week. Steve Beuerlein of CBS Sports spoke on the game and troubles facing both teams.

"I made a horrible mistake in my life, but if you truly believe in second chances, they will forgive me," Rice said.
WFAN's Craig Carton says yes. His radio co-host, Boomer Esiason, isn't so hot on the idea: "You can't make this happen."
While many wonder whether the 32-year-old should be re-signed, Antrel Rolle has no doubts that he can still help Big Blue.
Two teams that have nothing to gain this season, but a lot to gain for next year, will battle it out on "Thursday Night Football." The future of the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars is quite cloudy right now, but a lot is on the line this week and CBS Sports' Steve Beuerlein took time to discuss the match-up between two very young teams.
Revis has been back before, as an opposing player taking on the Jets. Not this way, though. This time around, he's an enemy -- no matter how "sad" he feels for the opposing coach.
