Rep. Mike Johnson is the fourth speaker nominee since McCarthy's removal and the second in a single day. He said that his intention is to go the House floor Wednesday for a noon speaker vote.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries took questions from reporters before a third vote for House speaker on Friday. He said it was the Republicans' job as the majority to put forth a speaker and said he didn't see a scenario right now where he could take the role.
