Police say the 49-year-old victim was approached by an unidentified man on Tapscott Street. The suspect punched him, knocking him to the ground, and then started stomping on the victim.
It happened at 12:50 a.m. on April 28 at Tapscott Street near Blake Avenue in Brownsville.
Video of the impact is too graphic to show. Police are looking for the driver of a gray 2020 Subaru Crosstrek with New York license plate JKE6183.
Police say they are now investigating the incident, but the South Asian community wants it looked at as an anti-Asian assault.
