The fire broke out shortly before 3:30 a.m. at a home on 81st Street and Ridge Boulevard in Bay Ridge and quickly spread to a second house.
Some residents living along Third Avenue and Ridge Boulevard in Bay Ridge woke up Sunday to find swastikas etched backwards into the hoods of their cars.
Just before 9 p.m., 33-year-old Amjad Barakat was crossing against the light at 72nd Street and Seventh Avenue in Bay Ridge when the car, described as a tan or beige Crown Victoria or Grand Marquis, hit him and kept going, police said.
