Winter Weather Causes Traffic Headaches For Drivers
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – The rainy mess in New York City changed to ice and snow as CBS2's Matt Kozar drove along the Palisades Parkway in northern New Jersey and Rockland County in Mobile2 Saturday evening.
Despite its beauty, the winter wonderland gave drivers plenty of headaches with concerns about black ice.
Even SUVs with all-wheel drive slowed down and hugged the foggy turns where visibility was poor, Kozar reported.
Some CBS2 spoke with said they narrowly avoided accidents after slipping and sliding on the roadway.
The Clarkstown Department of Public works is currently out with their plows and Kozar reported seeing them drive by every few minutes.
For those heading outside, the best advice is to drive carefully and with extra caution.
