1/10 CBS2 Sunday Evening Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre

CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

What a day it was! Plenty of spots got a much-needed soaking, and the winds were whipping around too -- we even had some thunder and hail. Things change drastically overnight, with clearing skies and plunging temps -- expect NYC to bottom out around the freezing mark with strong winds making it feel colder.

Tomorrow will be a cold start to the week, although not as brutal as last week. Gusty winds will make the forecast high of 36 degrees feel like the upper 20s, so dress warmly. We'll warm up for Tuesday as temperatures reach 40 in NYC with increasing clouds, and there could be some light snow in the evening. A weak clipper might bright a quick coating to many spots, especially north and west of town.

A few flakes early Wednesday morning will give way to partial clearing and a very cold day, with highs only hit the freezing mark with gusty winds.
