Teens Treated For Alcohol Intoxication At Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa Concert On Long Island
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Dozens of young concertgoers fell ill during a rap concert on Long Island.
It happened during the Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa concert at the Nikon at Jones Beach Amphitheater on Tuesday, said State Parks Police Sgt. Manny Vilar.
Eleven teenagers were rushed to area hospitals and at least 30 others were treated at the scene before being released to their parents, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported.
One 15-year-old girl was unresponsive, Vilar said.
Although the state recently hired parks police officers, Vilar said more are needed.
"It's just the law of numbers. Ten cops and 15,000 people does not equate to effective policing and this unfortunately is the end result of that," Vilar said. "This is problematic."
The incident comes after several people were injured when a partition collapsed during a Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa concert at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey last Friday.
