Police: NJ Man Charged With DWI Arrested 10 Hours Later For Second DWI
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Call it DWI deja vu.
A New Jersey man was arrested and charged with DWI on Aug. 12 -- roughly 10 hours after being charged with DWI in Toms River, police said.
Nicholas Corsair, 19, rear-ended a Honda Civic in Toms River on Aug. 12, and fled in his truck, police said.
There was heavy traffic and a detour in the area of the crash due to a crash the night before that damaged a utility pole, police said.
Toms River Traffic Officer Robert Westfall determined that Corsair was responsible for the utility pole crash the previous evening, police said.
In that incident, Corsair was arrested and charged with DWI as a result of suspected drug use, police said.
Corsair, who had been released after the first DWI arrest at around 3 a.m., was arrested at his home at around 8 a.m., police said.
He was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance as well as numerous other traffic violations, police said.
Cosair's mother, Jacquelin Latronico, was also arrested at her home for allowing her son to operate a vehicle while impaired, police said.
Both mother and son were released pending a later court date.
