NEW YORK (WFAN) -- NFL great-turned-analyst Terry Bradshaw says he's "sick" over a comment he made when describing a touchdown run by Miami Dolphins star Reggie Bush.
Live on "FOX NFL Sunday," Bradshaw said during a clip of the 18-yard score: "Look at this, Jimmy—like he was chasing that bucket of chicken the wind was blowing the other day."
Controversy soon followed, but Bradshaw, his studio mates and the network insisted the remark was about fellow analyst Jimmy Johnson, who apparently has a habit of hoarding chicken on game days.
"I was sick (to) my stomach," Bradshaw told WFAN's Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts on Tuesday. "That's just -- I've got too much respect for people, athletes, doesn't matter. To ever, ever have that happen, that's just not who I am."

Bradshaw said he had no idea the line was flubbed until Monday.
"I'm certainly no racist," said Bradshaw. "I've never said an unkind word in my life."
The 64-year-old apologized and admitted that Johnson's eating habits, a running joke among the crew, was "probably too much of an insight."
"A lot of times, I just like to engage (the co-hosts) for fun, and I think our viewers enjoy it too," said Bradshaw. "I just like to bust their chops. And the fact that Jimmy eats chicken after the show and won't share it with anybody -- probably too much of an insight, shouldn't have done it when Reggie made his great run, but he was all over the place."
Bradshaw said Bush and his representatives took no offense to the comment.
"Thank God, Reggie's people -- Reggie included -- have said 'No big deal,'" said Bradshaw.
