Listeria Scare Prompts Recall Of Starbucks Breakfast Sandwich
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A popular breakfast sandwich at Starbucks is being recalled due to a Listeria scare.
The FDA says the sausage, egg and cheddar cheese English muffin sold at the Seattle-based coffee chain may be affected, CBS2 reports.
Routine testing revealed the presence of a potentially deadly bacteria on a contact surface at a Starbucks production factory in Massachusetts.
The sandwiches were sold Starbucks locations in Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma.
Listeria can cause serious bacterial infections and can sometimes be fatal.
