NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Will they all be impressed by your Halston dress and the memorabilia you bought from Elaine's?
Some 250 lots of artwork, books, furniture, memorabilia and more that restaurateur Elaine Kaufman acquired over a lifetime will be auctioned off Tuesday at Doyle Auction House.
The items range from the pricey to the affordable. On the high end, there's some signed artworks by Andy Warhol, estimated to fetch up to $15,000 each, a photo collage by Wallace Berman that's estimated at $30,000-50,000. Less expensive but as important to Elaine's loyalists: the vintage cash register that sat behind the bar, estimated at $400-600.
"Elaine lived a long, happy and prosperous life," Diane Becker said in a statement. Becker, Elaine's restaurant manager, inherited Kaufman's estate. "I feel this is the best - and frankly only - way I know to share Elaine with those she cared about most - her Elaine's family."
Elaine's famous Table Number One, complete with four chairs, is among the items going up for auction.
Kaufman died in last year at age 81.
The auction will take place Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 10:00 a.m.
