Rapist Sought In 2 Bronx Sex Attacks 10 Years Apart

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/AP) --The New York Police Department is seeking a suspect in two rapes in the Bronx a decade apart.

The first rape occurred on Aug. 16, 2000 near Webster Avenue. In that rape, the suspect displayed a gun, and pulled her into a vacant room where sexually assaulted her. The victim was treated at Lincoln Hospital.

The second rape occurred near Sound View Avenue on Nov. 4, 2010. In that attack, police said the suspect displayed a gun and pulled the victim into a White Nissan Pathfinder where he raped her before fleeing. 

 The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition.

Both victims were 21-year-old women. Both women were treated at local hospitals. No arrest was ever made in the first case.

Police said Thursday that following the latest rape, DNA evidence linked the two attacks.
