Preschool Teacher's Aide Fatally Stabbed In Newark
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities in Newark have charged an ex-boyfriend with fatally stabbing a preschool teacher's aide on her way to work.
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert Laurino says Estol Molina was taken into custody about two hours after Erica Ortiz-Fuentes was stabbed at 7:45 a.m. Thursday as she was about to enter the Newark Preschool Council building.
Employees rushed to her aid, but Ortiz-Fuentes died at University Hospital about 15 minutes later.
The 36-year-old Ortiz-Fuentes was the mother of four children.
Molina has been charged with murder and weapons offenses and is being held on $1 million bail. Authorities did not say if he had retained an attorney.
