Police Search For Teenage Girls Who Tried To Rob Woman At Queens Subway Station

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Sunday were seeking help from the public in finding two teenage girls who tried to rob a woman at the Jamaica Center subway station in Queens.

Around 12:40 p.m. on Friday, May 24, the 42-year-old woman was trying to get into an elevator in the Jamaica Center – Parsons/Archer E, J and Z train stop, when the girls came up and tried to steal her cell phone.

The woman fought back, and the girls ran off empty handed. The victim declined medical attention.

The would-be robbers were described as black females between the ages of 16 and 18. Police have released a photo of the suspects.
