Police Renew Call For Information On Remaining Suspect In Brooklyn Bridge Attack On Cops
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Tuesday renewed a call to find one of the remaining suspects in an attack on two police lieutenants during protests on the Brooklyn Bridge last month.
Police continue to search for "suspect number one" in the Dec. 13 attack on lieutenants Philip Chan and Patrick Sullivan. The suspect allegedly pulled Chan and hit him in the back of the left shoulder during the incident, which happened during protests of the Eric Garner grand jury decision.
There is a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect, police said.
Five of the seven suspects in the attack have been arrested and charged.
Most recently on New Year's Day, Jarrod Shanahan, 29, was charged with two counts of assault on a police officer, as well as resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, and rioting. The melee began when police arrested Baruch College professor Eric Linsker. Investigators said he triggered the melee when he tried to throw metal garbage cans over the bridge railing at officers.
Four other suspects – Cindy Gorn, Zachary Campbell, Maria Garcia and Robert Murray have also been charged in the incident.
NYPD Chief of Manhattan Detectives William Aubry said Murray is the seen on video punching Chan twice.
