NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Philadelphia Councilman Jim Kenney is either really passionate about his Eagles or simply a sore loser.

Maybe it's both.

Kenney unleashed an all-time Twitter tirade on Sunday night after New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was spotted rooting on the Dallas Cowboys in team owner Jerry Jones' box. Dallas beat the Eagles 38-27 in Philly for the top spot in the NFC East.

Kenney didn't take very well to the exposure given to Christie -- a lifelong Cowboys fan who many expect to make a run at the White House in 2016 -- on national television:

Kenney's comments came days after former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell -- also a Democrat -- said during a radio interview that the Republican's choice in NFL teams "indicates a basic inferiority complex."

"How can a Jersey guy be a Cowboys fan? It's pathetic," Rendell said.
