Person jumps out of window during fire in Queens, firefighters say

A person jumped out of a building's window after a fire broke out in Jamaica, Queens, Monday, according to firefighters.

The FDNY responded just after 7 a.m. to a building on 138th Place between 90th Avenue and 91st Avenue.

Flames erupted on the third floor. Firefighters brought it under control just before 8 a.m

Video from the scene showed damage to the side of the building, with windows blown out.

Fire officials said one person was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury after jumping out of the window. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
