Person down manhole in Harlem prompts large emergency response, FDNY says

There is a large emergency response in Harlem after a person was reported to be down a manhole on Wednesday morning.

The incident happened just after 9 a.m. at a construction site near Second Avenue and East 108th Street. The FDNY said a worker was 12 feet down the hole. 

The worker was removed by firefighters and transported to a nearby hospital.

Firefighters said people should expect traffic delays, road closures and mass transit disruptions in the area due to the response.
