Teaneck Parents Try Save Freshman Baseball
TEANECK, NJ (WCBS 880) - When voters rejected Teaneck's school budget in April, more than $6 million had to be cut.
LISTEN: WCBS 880's Sean Adams reports
Freshman sports were eliminated.
To borrow from Yogi Berra, "it ain't over 'til it's over."
Parent James Brown, a vice president with the little league, wants his son to play next year. So, he's organized a beefsteak fundraiser.
"You just want to have as many teams involved and as many activities as you can," Brown told WCBS 880 reporter Sean Adams. "I want my kids to be well-rounded. I don't want them to go to school, do their academic work, and come home and play video games for the rest of their lives."
Friday night, at the Knights of Columbus, eat a beefsteak and go to bat for freshman baseball.
