On WFAN: Avery Johnson Talks Nets' Playoff Chances

NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) -- Nets coach Avery Johnson joined WFAN's Joe & Evan on Thursday to give his take on New Jersey's long-shot chance of making the playoffs.

The Nets' strong play has Evan Roberts thinking about the improbable.

"That would be an awesome accomplishment. But in the situation that we're in, being five or six games back, whatever it is, a whole lot's gonna have to go right," Johnson said. "The main thing we can do is just ... take care of our own business."

Brook Lopez and Kris Humphries have keyed New Jersey's five-game win streak. Lopez is averaging 25.8 points on 56.8 percent shooting while Humphries is averaging 16.8 points and shooting 60.0 percent.

Meanwhile, Chicago has matched their longest win streak of the season at seven, as they try to claim the No. 1 seed in the East over Boston and Miami. New Jersey is next on the Bulls' two-game trip.

"Tonight we've got the best team, arguably the best team in the East coming in. And then we go on the back-t0-back games. We're playing seven games in the next ten days, playing against some really good opponents," said Johnson. "For us, it's all about practice, shoot-arounds and games. And the next opponent, and the next opponent, the current game."
